Grade coverage

A connected path from elementary through middle school.

Nexus Academy is organized into two academies that build on each other — an Elementary Academy and a Middle School Academy — with high school pathways on the roadmap. Each stage is designed to be coherent, age-appropriate, and oriented toward real academic mastery and future-ready skills.

3–5
Elementary Academy Grade 3, 4, and 5. Foundational academics, first steps with AI literacy, and hands-on digital creation. Grades 3 · 4 · 5

Middle School Academy Grade 6, 7, and 8. Deeper academics, coding, data, applied projects, and curated portfolio work. Grades 6 · 7 · 8
9+
High School Pathways Deeper AI, software, cloud, cybersecurity, research, entrepreneurship, and certification preparation. Coming next

Elementary Academy — Grades 3, 4, 5

A structured start where students build reading, writing, and math fluency alongside first encounters with AI literacy, safe prompting, simple coding, and creative digital projects. Learning is hands-on, guided by Eugenie, and visible to parents at every step.

Middle School Academy — Grades 6, 7, 8

Students move into analytical writing, algebraic thinking, structured research, and applied science — paired with intermediate coding, data analysis, responsible AI workflows, and a curated portfolio that prepares them for high school and credential pathways.

Transition note. Grade 5 can serve as an elementary capstone and transition bridge into middle school readiness — consolidating foundational skills while introducing the structure and independence expected in Grade 6.
Coming next: High School pathways. Coming next: high school pathways with deeper AI, software, cloud, cybersecurity, research, entrepreneurship, and certification preparation — extending the same coherent program into the next stage of a student's journey.
Academic foundation

Core academics, taught for mastery.

Every Nexus Academy student builds a strong conventional academic foundation. AI does not replace academics — it supports mastery, feedback, practice, and project creation, always within a structured, grade-appropriate curriculum.

Reading & Writing

Fluency, comprehension, grammar, and structured writing — from paragraphs to research essays — developed year over year.

Mathematics

Number sense, operations, fractions, ratios, pre-algebra, and algebraic thinking — built on conceptual understanding and consistent practice.

Science

Inquiry-based science across life, Earth, physical, and space sciences — with hands-on exploration and evidence-based reasoning.

Social Studies

History, geography, civics, and culture — helping students understand their world, their communities, and their responsibilities as citizens.

Research Skills

How to ask good questions, find credible sources, take organized notes, and build evidence-based arguments.

Digital Citizenship

Safe, responsible, and respectful behavior online — privacy, source evaluation, and healthy technology habits.

Study Skills

Time management, note-taking, test preparation, and self-reflection — the habits that make independent learning possible.

AI does not replace academics.

It supports mastery, feedback, practice, and project creation. Eugenie reinforces the curriculum — it never substitutes for the learning itself.

AI & future skills track

Beyond traditional school: AI, coding, and digital creation.

Alongside core academics, every student follows a structured future-skills track. They learn how AI works, how to use it responsibly, how to code, and how to create — documents, presentations, images, and complete projects — inside a secure, guided workspace.

  • AI literacy — what AI is, how it works, and its limits, at age-appropriate depth.
  • Responsible AI use — when to trust AI output, and when not to.
  • Prompting — effective, structured communication with AI tools.
  • Coding foundations — logic, sequences, functions, and loops.
  • Data & logic — organizing information and reasoning about it.
  • Digital documents — creating, formatting, and managing written work.
  • Presentations — designing clear, structured visual communication.
  • Image & media creation — responsible, creative media production.
  • Secure internet research — finding and evaluating credible sources.
  • Project canvas — planning, building, and finishing real projects.
  • Portfolio building — curating artifacts that show growth over time.

Certification & badge pathways

Pathways toward recognized digital credentials.

Nexus Academy prepares and guides students toward external credential pathways from established technology providers. Students build the foundational knowledge and project experience that align with these public learning tracks. Any third-party credentials are issued only by the official provider through that provider's own official process — Nexus Academy itself issues internal completion certificates and portfolio records.

Cloud & AI fundamentals

Microsoft Learn · Azure AI Fundamentals

A public learning path covering cloud and artificial-intelligence fundamentals. Nexus Academy builds aligned foundations in AI literacy and data concepts so students are prepared to understand this material. Students may pursue the official AI Fundamentals credential through Microsoft's official process.

Workplace & emerging tech

IBM SkillsBuild

A public learning platform with courses spanning AI, data, cybersecurity, and workplace skills. Nexus Academy's future-skills track covers overlapping concepts. Students may pursue IBM-issued badges or credentials through IBM's official process.

Networking & cybersecurity

Cisco Networking Academy

A globally recognized program covering networking, cybersecurity, and IT essentials. Nexus Academy develops aligned digital and technical foundations. Official Cisco credentials are issued by Cisco through its official process.

Cloud computing & AI services

AWS Educate · AWS Academy

Cloud learning resources from Amazon Web Services covering cloud computing and AI services. Nexus Academy introduces aligned concepts in cloud, data, and responsible AI. Students may pursue AWS credentials through AWS's official process.

How third-party pathways work. Students can work through selected learning pathways from recognized education and technology providers, including opportunities that may lead to third-party badges or certifications. Third-party credentials are issued by their respective providers through their own official process. Nexus Browser Academy brings those pathways into a guided learning experience — helping students discover, organize, and work through relevant material, while maintaining Academy progress records, portfolio evidence, and internal completion certificates.
For parents

Clear visibility into everything your child is learning.

Parents get a transparent, real-time view of their child's progress through the program — by grade, by subject, and by project. Nothing is hidden, and nothing happens in an unsupervised open chat.

Student progress by grade

See exactly where your child stands within their grade-level program — units completed and concepts mastered.

Completed lesson cards

A clear record of every completed lesson, checkpoint, and skill milestone as it happens.

Projects

View the real projects your child is building — research briefs, coded applications, presentations, and more.

Certificates

Internal completion certificates that recognize stages, units, and skill milestones as they are earned.

Portfolio artifacts

A growing, curated portfolio that shows your child's growth from Grade 3 onward — work they can be proud of.

Reading & practice activity

Time-on-task, engagement, and practice summaries — so you always know how learning is going.

Teacher review status

See Eugenie's review notes, recommendations, and any areas flagged for extra attention.

Safe access & privacy-first

Every view is delivered through a secure portal, with privacy and controlled access at the center of the design.

Safety & trust

Built for safe, guided learning — by design.

Nexus Academy is engineered around safety and trust at every layer. Students learn inside a controlled, private workspace — never in an open, unsupervised environment.

Secure device binding

Access is tied to approved devices, so learning happens only where it should.

Role-based access

Students, parents, and staff each see only what their role permits — no more, no less.

Filtered internet

Research happens through secure, filtered channels — not the open web.

Private workspace

Each student's files, projects, and context live in a private, protected environment.

Parent portal

Full visibility for parents — progress, projects, certificates, and recommendations.

No open student-to-student chat by default

Communication is structured and supervised — open peer chat is not enabled by default.

Controlled document access

Documents and materials are shared on a need-to-know, role-appropriate basis.

Progress & audit trails

Every session and action is logged — creating a clear, reviewable record of learning activity.

Local / LAN-capable infrastructure for schools

For campus and district deployments, the infrastructure can run in a local, LAN-capable configuration.

Privacy-first by design. Nexus Academy is built around privacy and controlled access. Student data, work, and activity are handled within the secure Nexus environment — with parent visibility and institutional control at the center.
